TW: Body/Chest Dysphoria, Depression

Huh. I've noticed recently that I've started to have dysphoria over my breasts.

I'm sick right now, and I am hot and sweaty, and it's giving me a panic attack because I am so hot and I can't be not hot, which is giving me a panic attack, so I'm having a panic attack because I'm sweaty and hot, which is giving me a panic attack, and it's just a cycle of never-ending suffering! So I took my shirt off to cool down and ***you don't even know how good being shirtless is!***

My breasts are big. I really hate them. I used some random tape (it's medical tape that my sister gave me a while back since she had a lot of it and didn't know what to do with the extra she didn't need) I found in my room to tape my breasts tight to my chest. It made them a lot smaller, but they are still noticeable.

I put my shirt on, saw that I was like 3 bra cup sizes smaller, and it was just like… wow… this looks and feels amazing! I look almost flat!!!

It's kind of hard to breathe. I feel kind of nauseous again but that's ****because I'm sick, not because of the tape thing****. Looking at that picture of my almost flat chest makes me feel so happy! I can look down and see my feet! My breasts aren't in the way!

It's so nice! I love this too much!

Maybe I should get top surgery…

Is it bad to bind with some medical tape? Medical tape is definitely not used for this. It's used to attach bandages, gauze, and other dressings to the skin around wounds. It's kind of hard to breathe, but I've never binded before, so I don't really know how to do it. I'm very much new to actually trying to look more like a man.

Yes, it is. I just didn't want to admit it because this was so nice having a flat-looking chest.

Well, it was fun while it lasted.

I was depressed when I was wearing the medical tape, but it was like a cloudy day, but now that it's off, it's more like a storm cloud.

Now I'm just back to being a morbidly depressed woman.

Maybe I do really want top surgery… this has opened new doors to me… I have to think about some stuff now…

I’ve been considering HRT, but I’m not entirely sure if I wanna do it because I’m kinda scared that if I don’t like it I won’t be able to change back.

I really want to look like a cis boy, but I’m also genderfluid and sometimes want to look like a cis girl. So I just don't know what to do…

I was talking to someone online and they said, “Whatever happens, whether you choose to identify as your assigned gender at birth or change it, please never consider surgery. I know from what I’ve seen from people i know and what I’ve witnessed on the internet, gender affirming surgery has a ridiculously small chance of making you satisfied with your body and would likely make your situation worse”

This can't be right, right? The happiness rate after transition has to be somewhat high, like 50–60%, right? It can't be 49–0%, right? I feel like they just looked at the bad studies and decided that was the only right thing, while all the other studies said otherwise. 

But, IDK. What do you think?

Is it valid to be trans but never want to transition? Since gender identity is different from expression, but some trans people intertwine them with FtM, MtF, or whatever? /genq

Does anyone have any tips for a FtM to look more like a cis man?

I want to look more like a man, but it's not working. I don't have money for things like binders or anything, so does anyone have more passive tips? Passive meanings like hair, behavior, or stuff like that.

TW: gender dysphoria, transphobia

Around 6 or 7 years old, I had the *really strong* feeling that I was meant to be born a male. This was before I even knew LGBTQIA+ was a thing* I told my mom about this feeling, and it didn't go well. We got into a one-sided fight, and she kept yelling that I was born a girl, and that's what I will always be. Things went back to normal for a while. I just embraced the identity of a tomboy instead.

For the next 7 years, I identified as a girl who was a tomboy or just masculine in nature with no further thought, until 2019, when I got obsessed with finding my queer labels.

I *know* I'm genderfluid, but I also want to identify as transgender, but I feel that I am faking being trans. I love looking up trans memes because I can relate to them a lot, but I feel that since I don't want to change my body at all, I'm not trans.

Trans men are always talking about how they hate their boobs and are glad to no longer have them, but I don't mind my genitalia at all. I'm fine with what I have right now (what I was born with). I mean, sometimes I want a bulge (attempting not to be graphic), but that isn't something that stays for more than a few minutes at a time (it comes and goes).

So, is my 'base' or 'main' gender transgender (and I just shift between genders on top of this feeling)? Or am I simply a tomboy?

Backstory: My brother and I get into fights all the time. We’re siblings; that's just what we do.

I thought that my brother needing plastic surgery would be a funny insult. So I asked my mom if she would be cool if we, her children (/unfortunately/), got plastic surgery. Mom said it’s our bodies, and it doesn’t matter what we do with them. So she said we could get plastic surgery if we wanted to. I then asked if I could get a tattoo, and she said the one I wanted was stupid. I said that was the point. It was meant to be so dumb it’s funny. She then said the same thing: It’s our body that doesn't hurt her or anyone else, so who cares?

I bet you once we go on HRT, she’s going to get mad!

I live by this when it comes to LGBTQIA+, back when I thought I was simply an ally. I lived by the mantra, “If it doesn’t hurt anyone, who cares?.”. It’s their choice—their body, not mine; therefore, I have no say in it. I think I have that mindset with everything. Which can cause me to be a laid-back, open-minded person most of the time. I mean, it’s obviously a problem, and my problem, if they're only doing it to be creepy/gross, but I’ve never met anyone who has done that, or have ever met someone who has had that happen to them. So it’s pretty chill right now.

I love genetics. I don't know why it's fun, but it is. I’m reading the Sex Determinism part of my Bio class, and I hate it because it's only talking about AMAB men and AFAB women.

I hate when people say there are only two sexes; there aren’t. There are an infinite number of genders, as it is an identity and not based on biology, and there are 3 sexes: male (XY), female (XX), and intersex (XXY, XYY, XXX, XO).

When I become a doctor, which has been a dream of mine since I was little, I will listen to people when it comes to their gender identity or intersex traits.

What do you think? Am I right in thinking there are three sexes and an infinite number of genders?

I know Vall wanted me to spread awareness, so I’m posting this. This is the only way I can ever think of forgiving myself…

Context: My best friend, Vall, died of suicide. (I will not provide any graphic details as there are largely underaged users here.) She was trans… She faced severe bullying, harassment, and sexual abuse. It has been barely a week or so since she left this world… Words cannot describe the pain and sorrow I feel. The anger and hatred I feel towards this world. She was the sweetest girl, a bright ray of light…she didn’t deserve ANY of this cruelty.

All those times she said she couldn’t hang out because of projects….she was just crying alone, sometimes in the rain, (which I now know because her neighbors informed me). Her neighbors were very kind(they support LGBTQ+ even though her own parents don’t) and would try to comfort her, but she’d tell them every single time, “I’m ok”, when she really wasn’t.

The last words I ever heard from her was, “I’m ok. I just don’t want anybody else to suffer like this…” I knew she was suffering but her voice sounded desperate, it was as if she needed me. It was not like other times….if was different…if only then I knew that she was going to commit the unthinkable after saying those words.

I was worried and came back to check on her once I got an alarming text, but it was too late…

I feel so much regret and hatred towards myself. I think it’s my fault that I couldn’t arrive on time…

Hi! i have a friend who is questioning between trans and genderfluid. Can't they be genderfluid and trans? i guess this could really help her!

Im literally feeling like i should have been/i was assigned male as birth (my parents n doctor thought i was a boy till i was born btw but it probably doesnt change anything) and i feel very feminine most of the time and sometimes i feel more masculine but its rather rare. i also feel gender neutral often. and i feel kinda weird when people refer about me as he/him but i mostly use those in my thoughts because i feel more natural with them and i always did actually, i dont have any problems with using she/her pronouns tho. idk i just really dont know
