This isn't even a rhetorical question, just genuinely why?
(pretty obvious tw for transphobia, homophobia, religion, and a very small mention of divorce)
Most of the arguments against transphobia (and also homophobia) are related to religion. And I'm not a religious person, but my entire family are Christians, and none of them are transphobic or homophobic (well, they're kinda weird about it, but none of them would be entirely homophobic) and the bible says nothing about gay or trans people.
And, I don't know anything about other religions, because the only one I've been exposed to is Christianity, but I know that people who are Muslims are not allowed to be queer or support it, but that doesn't mean they have to be bigots. Theres no need to be hateful towards it.
Another argument I see that doesn't have anything to do with religion is that trans people are 'seducing children into surgeries.' First of all, who???
It is not legal for people under the age of 18 to get any surgeries, and in most places, you can't get HRT until you're 16 with parental consent. No child is getting their boobs chopped off until they're fully grown adults. The most I've seen children transition is cutting/growing out their hair, and changing their name and pronouns, and that can be easily reversed if the trans kid does realize they're cis. No minor is being 'mutilated' permanently.
(also, there are cis children on hormones and puberty blockers, it's not just a trans thing)
Also, I see people using the existence of detransitioners against trans people. Which first of all, don't use real people as arguments for bigotry? And second of all, just because a few people regretted their transition doesn't mean every transition should be banned. Some people regret getting married to certain people and have to get divorced, but does that mean that all marriage should be banned? No, and if you suggest that, you're gonna get some pretty weird looks.
And, literal statistics show that the majority of detransitioners still identify as trans, and they detransitioned because transitioning either didn't work out for them, or they were forced back into the closet BY TRANSPHOBES.
So, there is literally no reason for transphobia and homophobia to exist. There are trans and gay animals, and yet humans are the only species where homophobia appears, which shows to me that homophobia is more unnatural than being queer.
People who hate queer people don't really have a reason, they just hate us because they don't understand it and it makes them angry. And that's just stupid. And I didn't even go into arguments against enbies, gay men and lesbians, bisexuals, or even 'weird queers' (eg. lesboys, neopronoun users. who get a lot of hatred even in their own communities. might yap about that later). It's just so dumb. Homophobes are dumb.
(woah I yapped a lot, I apologize. I got really mad this morning for literally no reason and wanted to be angry ig)
