Effeminate Symbol
Effeminacy is a set of behaviours, presentations and roles which are/were culturally associated with being a boy and/or possessing male sex characteristics, though it has multiple definitions:
- Boy-like masculinity
- Boy-like femininity
- Masculine/male femininity
- Feminine masculinity
- A youthful gender aspect associated with adolescent males
- Femininity found in men
Effeminacy is the embodiment of feminine traits in males, particularly those considered untypical of men or masculinity.
On its own, effeminacy is not necessarily the same as femininity and neither is it the same as androgyny. Effeminacy is a more masculine approach to femininity.
