Gendervoid is a gender identity in which one feels nothing where a gender should be.
A common way to describe this gender is the 'bowl and soup method.' Those who have a gender may have soup in their pot with contents that makes up their gender, whilst those who are gendervoid may feel there is no soup in the pot, as in there is nothing where their gender should be.
This identity is similar to agender.
History[]
Gendervoid was coined in 2014 by Tumblr user baaphomett through mogai-archive.[1]
Flags[]
The original gendervoid flag was made by DeviantArt user Pride-Flags on July 4th, 2015.[2] It has no explicit symbolism other than that the black, grey, and dark blue represent the void. The gendervoid flag was created by DeviantArt user pride-flags.
An alternate gendervoid flag was created by FANDOM user Fruitindividual on February 28th, 2021. The black in the flag represents the void, the center black circle represents the void core, the two interior grey rings represent a feeling of absence, and mirrors the circular design of a black hole. The third broken ring demonstrates absence of gender with a replacement of void to differentiate itself from agender and other-like identities.
Three more alternative gendervoid flags were created by Tumblr user eleiinium on May 6, 2021. For every version, the gradient black and greys represent the vast expanse and emptiness of the void. On the first version, the circle and stripe represents the self and is in blue to tie in to the theme of void. The choice of a dark blue was heavily inspired by the original flag. In the second and third versions, the stars represent the void of space. They can also be for anyone who uses gender labels other than gendervoid, with the other labels being like stars in the void of space.
Another alternative gendervoid flag was created by wiki user Felix.guchi on June 11, 2021. It's meant to look like a simplified version of a space void.
Another alternative gendervoid flag was created by DeviantArt user Transfeminine March 17th, 2021.
