Term[]

Jobgender. This term was coined by unknownmemoirs on 18/07/2023.

Definition[]

Jobgender is a gender related one’s job, profession, or career e.g. teacher, artist, engineer, poet, etc. Being a job gender can encompass two circumstances.

  1. They feel their gender is their job as they perform the job e.g. a singer feels their gender is singergender when they perform.
  2. They feel their gender is their job even after the shift ends or the task is complete e.g. a doctor feels their gender is doctorgender even outside of clinic hours or surgery.

Umbrella[]

This can be an umbrella term for those who identify as their specific job, profession, or career e.g. teachergender (a gender who identifies as a teacher because they are a teacher by profession).

Subset of...[]

Actiogender and maybe multigender as jobs can end at a certain time of day; therefore, one's gender can change i.e. a career painter has a gender of a painter while working, and once they are finished for the day, they can consciously or unconsciously switch to another gender and vice versa when they are going to start work. However, they can also be solely a jobgender 24/7 if their job, profession, or career is their life.
