Moonthing is a xenogender identity in which one's gender is related to the moon/concepts surrounding the moon, and being a thing; a moonthing.

History[]

Moonthing was originally coined by Tumblr user squidthing on June 18th, 2022,[1] but they have since retired the blog and deleted almost all their posts, including the coining post for moonthing.[2] Moonthing has since been recoined by another Tumblr user, winecovered, on September 20th, 2024.[3]
