Pangender is a non-binary and multigender identity with many definitions:
- One identifies as every gender it’s possible for them to be; an alternate name for this definition is maxigender.
- One identifies as the entire gender spectrum they can be of any given spectrum(s).
- One identifies all genders available to them (within their culture & life experiences).
- One has an immense and/or uncountable number of genders.
- One identifies as infinite genders within their own culture and life experience.
- One's gender experience goes beyond the known genders within their own culture and life experience; this definition is similar to ultigender.
- One identifies as both binary genders and all known and unknown genders within their own culture and life experience; this definition is similar to ultigender.
- One identifies as polygender and more genders within their own culture and life experience.
- One's gender is very expansive and unspecific, meaning that there are countless genders with no maximum limit. It may be described as being an infinite spectrum.
Under any and all of these definitions, a pangender person. being may shift between identities over time in a fluid/flux/fluix way or feel as though they have one all encompassing identity that is static (unchanging).
Being pangender does not require that one knows everything about all established genders, just that their identity includes countless genders simultaneously or over time.
Pangender Pride Day is on June 19.[4]
Differentiations
Absorbgender
Pangender is different from absorbgender, because absorbgender can be finite - one becomes a 'blank slate,' being only one gender (in number) - while, many definitions of pangender include infinite genders.
Polygender
Pangender is different from polygender because polygender can be finite in number, while many definitions of pangender include infinite genders. However, pangender falls under the polygender umbrella, since polygender means the feeling of two or more genders.
Omnigender
Pangender is sometimes used interchangeably with omnigender, but it can be considered different because while pangender person/being may simply say they are all genders, an omnigender person/being might:
- Identify with almost, but not exactly all genders.
- Use the genders as "building blocks" to their identity and consider it to be one gender.
- Not be ambivalent about their gender like most pangender people are.
